I am just done texturing the MIG 21 model. This time I also drew some of the bolts on to the fuselage texture and put some restrained lines on the wing textures to indicates the dents caused by moving parts of the wing. See pictures below.

I am just done modeling a low polygon MIG 21. The yet untextured model consists of 1178 faces. In addition, I created a version with just below 1000 faces (998 to be exact) by cutting the tank and deleting an edge loop in the spike that juts out the turbine (picture at the very bottom).

Yesterday I played a bit with GIMP. Inspired to use the polar coordinates distortion by a Photoshop tutorial I found on the net, I experimented until I figured out a whole process to create semi-realistic iris textures in GIMP. You can download the tutorial below.

I added textures to my F16 model yesterday. The UV mapping itself was fairly easy, while drawing the textures with GIMP and Inkscape took a bit of time. Yet, all the texturing was done in less than two hours.

Yesterday I decided to take a short break from character modeling and attempted to model an F16 airplane. The low poly mesh without textures took a bit less than two hours to model.
